Ok so, I filled out and application with MAC a few weeks back (hey, that rhymes, lol!) and I spoke to the mananger twice. The first time I spoke with her she said that they were busy doing inventory and she didn't have time to look over any applications. She also asked me for my name, wrote down my information, and asked me to call her that next week. The next week came and I spoke with her again. She said that they just got done doing inventory, and that she'll call me in for an interview when she gets to looking at applications. Both conversations, I was very polite and it seemed like she like me. Now, should I call again or just wait it out??Getting a job at MAC Cosmetics?
wait it out:) do u have a portfolio..becuz they look for that to work there...are u a certified makeup artist?? any schooling for makeup if u do then u will most likely get it..if not then..i wouldnt put all my faith into getting that job:)Getting a job at MAC Cosmetics?
call...if you are persistent then they will know that you are serious about the job...dont be annoying but just be polite and ask if she has gotten the time to look at it yet.

Sales Associate Job at Lush cosmetics?
So, long story short (well, somewhat), I went into Lush the other day buying Henna for my hair. While being rung up, the manager and I where talking about her job, and then it got into how I was looking for seasonal employment. She was extremely excited and asked me to come in for an interview, yesterday was my interview and all through out the interview she couldn't stop saying how much she liked me. She didn't offer me the job but made it pretty clear that I made a good impression. My question is, I just got a job at Wells Fargo and that requires me to work 30 hours a week (Mon/Wed or Tue/Thur and Fri/Sat). I always take Sundays off because that's my family day. I was wondering if it would be possible to only work at Lush two days out of the week, either Mon/Wed or Tue/Thur and do full hours those two days (6-8 hours) and have her still want to hire me. She already knows that I have another job, I'm really good in customer service, professionally I have a year and a half experience in customer service, retail, and cash handling. I don't need this job, but the extra money would be nice for the holidays, and I've always wanted to work in a store like that around Christmas time. What do you think?
Thank you!Sales Associate Job at Lush cosmetics?

Are ULTA's free gift cosmetics safe?
I recently received two of ULTA's ';Debutante'; gift sets for purchasing $17.50 worth of ULTA-brand cosmetics on two separate occasions (a pretty little clutch full of free cosmetics - lipsticks, nail polishes, lip gloss, an eyeshadow palette, blush, etc.). When I got home and looked at the free cosmetics I received, however, I couldn't help but notice that they were all made in China. I then compared them to the ULTA-brand cosmetics I had actually paid for, which were all made in the U.S.A.
I assume that ULTA is so generous with giving away the Chinese cosmetics, because they are a lot cheaper to produce than the American-made cosmetics available to consumers for purchase. My worry is, are these Chinese cosmetics safe?
I really question if my now not-so-wonderful free gift is really worth using. There have been a few articles out recently about lead in Chinese lipsticks and that sort of thing. Quite honestly, I feel a little cheated. I'd hate to throw the free cosmetics away, especially because I do feel like I bought more than I had really wanted or needed to buy, just to reach that magical $17.50. I wouldn't have done that had I realized that I was getting the cheap stuff, and not the nice ULTA cosmetics I thought I was getting.
In the future, I am going to skip the gift sets and just pick up what I need. In the meanwhile, does anyone have any insight on this? I looked for answers online and found nothing about ULTA cosmetics made in China. Are ULTA's free gift cosmetics safe?
I don't know that anything made is China is safe anymore.Sadly to say.Are ULTA's free gift cosmetics safe?
You need to stop second-guessing these types of things. Just because something is made in China does not mean it is poor quality or it is fake. People just assume it is.
I've used them and I was fine.

How do i afford MAC cosmetics???!!!?
i looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo鈥?mac i think everybody does but the only reason i ever could get some stuff from it is cause i got a 500 dollar gift card uuuuugh its so expensive i added for things to my online shopping cart 80 dollars ugh should i only get a few things from mac and get the rest from another store???? i hear costal scents , urban decay, and sephora are good do you know anything besides drugstores or recommend anything please help and i cant buy stuff from mac cause i have to pay with my own money which i dont have because im not old enough to get a job besides babysitting. god thats a mouthful sorryHow do i afford MAC cosmetics???!!!?
first off, NEVER buy MAC off ebay- it's mostly fake!
the prices online are the same as in the store, and if you order more than $60, you get free shipping!
i don't recommend coastal scents items (the items are good, but have horrible customer service). i would go on ebay and look at make up palette, you get those same items you could from coastal scents, but for cheaper. i am very happy with my 88 eyeshadow palette of ebay and the colors are beautiful!
some items from sephora are even more expensive than MAC! sephora has every high-end brand under the sun except for macHow do i afford MAC cosmetics???!!!?
You have taken the words right out of every MAC addicts mouth. Beside getting a job that balances with school, save your money on every little thing, and conserve your makeup. don't do ur face as if your going to prom when ur Just kicking it with ur buds. I wish it was more could tell you but this is something I have been struggling with since 13 and now I am 18 and sad
You're not old enough to get a job and you're wearing that much make up? You're face is gonna be ugly without makeup when you're 20.
if you're gunna buy mac makeup MAKE SURE it's ONLYY from maccosmetics.com. Otherwise if you buy makeup from ebay than most likely it's FAKE!

High End or Lower End Cosmetics..your preference?
i choose higher ends for certain types..not all high end cosmetics are creme of the crop. ive tried some more affordable products that outlasted and upstaged some the more costlier brands.
my fave:Dior
Least Fave:Covergirl
would love your awesome input ladies...and metro dudes (cant leave you dudes out) :)High End or Lower End Cosmetics..your preference?
I do prefer high end brands. Sure, they are mainly expensive, but they are an investment. They last longer and the quality of the make up is better. They usually don't make me break out and I have to touch up less often. Sure, some high end products aren't very good either. Some lower end products are great.
Favorite- MAC or Urban Decay
Least Favorite- Wet n Wild
Cover Girl saves itself from being the least favorite just because of LashBlast! It's amazing. :DHigh End or Lower End Cosmetics..your preference?
I am very picky about what I put on my face. For eye-shadows, MAC is definitely worth the price. The pigments are bright and vivid, and the selection ranges from mattes, shimmers, metallic shades, etc. I also use MAC eyeliner, but by far, the best mascara I have used so far is the Lash Stiletto mascara. I believe it is by Maybelline cosmetics. I love the glossy look it gives to my lashes. For glosses/lip plumpers, I use DuWop Lip Venom. It's a spicy cinnamon-y tingle, and the shine is impeccable.
In the end, I usually do end up going for the high-end cosmetics. I've gotten the best performance from them.
Fave: MAC
Least Fave: Covergirl
Generally I do prefer higher-end cosmetics like MAC, Lancome and Clinique. Overall the quality tends to be a lot better, it has more staying power and contains less ingredients that irritate my skin. Some lower-end cosmetics are nice, like Revlon ColorStay and CoverGirl Lash Blast, though.
Favorite brand: MAC or Lancome
Least favorite brand: NYC or Wet n Wild
I prefer to use a primer when I apply my cosmetics. I use a Revlon foundation primer, and a Lancome eyeshadow base.
I think the worst mascara ever is that maybelline one that everyone has been talking about. I think it's called great lash. I think mac eyeshadows are nice. I loved the prestige eyeliner in black. I got the waterproof one and it works really well. I also like how the pencil is the one where you twist it up, so you don't waste any products when you sharpen it. I think it smudged less than make up forever's aqua cream liners. My waterline smudged faster when I used the aqua cream liner. I also like shiseido's liquid liner. I use it a lot.
I don't apply a primer because I don't want to put that much stuff on the skin. I would do it if it's something special or when I'm going out with my boyfriend or something.
I gotta say high end cosmetics. I'm definitely not a label whore and I hate people that are, but when it comes to cosmetics, I'm more likely to find a high end brand that works well than a low end brand that does. There are definitely some gems out there in the drugstores, but you really have to dig, search, and research to find it.
Favorite: Makeup Forever
Least: NYC
lower end- its cheaper :)
but i like the higher end of the lower end, if you know what i mean.
if you do some research, and read some reviews, you can find really good drugstore brand stuff.
fave: revlon and maybelline
least fave: covergirl
I must say that I have expensive taste, to a point. I like, what I call, higher end.
My fave is a tie between MK and Arbonne
My least fave is Covergirl or Clinique
rimmels foundations are ok!
maybelline has some good mascaras
dont like loreal or covergirl!
lancome was not very good , netiher was clinique, ysl has some good mascaras. mac is overpriced! xxcomputer security

Where can you buy makeup/cosmetics from France directly?
My wife is looking to buy European makeup directly from Europe, France, Italy or Spain is on the top of the list of countries to purchase from. She wants the makeup directly from the country or someone who imports it and resells it. Not no cheap made for American market European makeup.
The EU has much more harsh requirements in the types of ingredients that can be used here in the US. Literally a US company will sell under one brand name one type of makeup for Europe and another for the US. Ours is full of garbage carcinogens, etc. This is exactly why she is looking for makeup, hopefully from France, and I have not been successful in finding a website to purchase these products from.Where can you buy makeup/cosmetics from France directly?

Can I get cosmetic surgery on the NHS?
One side of my face is very different from the other. I have asked a surgeon and he agrees. My right eye is drooping and i have more fat on my cheek. The right side of my face looks neglected. Its causing me a lot of pain and depression. Could I get this corrected on the NHS?Can I get cosmetic surgery on the NHS?
The NHS will not pay for surgery for cosmetic reasons alone, but surgery to correct, or improve, congenital abnormalities will usually be carried out free of charge. You will normally need to be referred to a plastic surgeon by your GP and undergo an assessment by a psychiatrist, or psychologist. It will then be decided whether there is enough social, psychological, or physical benefit to be gained to justify surgery. The site below may be of interest to you.Can I get cosmetic surgery on the NHS?
Without knowing the actual condition it's hard to say. If the surgeon that you asked was a private one then it won't be worth a lot.
Firstly you'd have to get your GP to agree that the condition is the result of some form of defect, either congenital or through illness. This would have to be severe enough for it to be considered harmful to your quality of life. If he is uncertain and considers that it may be a perception issue you will probably have to go through some psych evaluation to see what impact it is having on you. If the psychologist finds that the defect is a significant harm to your mental health then surgery would be the next step.
Basically if you're the elephant man then you wouldn't need the psych evaluation and surgery would be a given, if it's within the range of ';normal'; asymmetry you'll have to persuade them that the mental anguish is sufficient to do the surgery with the resultant risks (scars, pain, facial immobility, skin tightening, etc). In general cosmetic surgery isn't that common on the NHS, it's mainly reconstructive surgery.
if this is not just a vanity thing (eg bigger boobs) and you have a real defect that prevents you from perhaps getting jobs, or enjoying relationships and romance, the NHS should consider covering this.
if they cover liposuction, and ive heard they do, they should cover cosmetic surgery, as long as its not like you look normal but are trying to look like kate moss, which no amount of surgery could do anyway.
if the problem is causing you stress and affecting how you feel about yourself then yes it can be done, sounds to me from what you say about your eye etc they would look into helping you. good luck
If your GP thinks you are really depressed and perhaps in danger of harming yourself, or that it is for your best interest, then yes it is possible to have cosmetic surgery on the nhs :)x hoped this helped x
the gp would have to agree that its a problem, he would then send you to a psych for their recommendation, if they both agreed it was severe and causing you mental distress then yes.
You may be able to, but only If your GP and the surgeon are sure that it is a health problem. They won't fix it if it is just about looks.

If Im having Cosmetic Surgery, Can I take the 2 weeks off as Annual Leave from my work?
or can I take it as sick leave? If Im having Cosmetic Surgery, Can I take the 2 weeks off as Annual Leave from my work?
Most employers would not view this as sickness as even though it is planned surgery, it is not essential for health reasons. They would expect you to use annual leave for cosmetic surgery. If Im having Cosmetic Surgery, Can I take the 2 weeks off as Annual Leave from my work?
would have thought it was annual leave as you are chosing to have it done, it is not a medical necessity and you are not sick
Annual leave.
Hiya
I had cosmetic surgery too and have been through this exact same thing with taking time off.
The normal procedure is for you to take it as annual leave as it's elective surgery - it's not like you are ill and have to have the surgery for medical reasons - you are well (and have to be so for surgery!) and choosing to have something cosmetic done.
Your company should be able to advise you of this too and do not have to pay you sick leave for this at all as it's something you are choosing to have done.
If you become ill AFTER the surgery - ie if something goes a little wrong THEN you'll be allowed to take any time off as a result as sick leave.
I wouldn't recommend trying to take this time off as sick leave to have the surgery done as if you genuinely need your sick pay, you will have reduced it by lots already, and your company can choose not to pay you if you are not genuinely sick, (and therefore you'll have no money coming in at all, unlike if you took paid annual leave).
Hope that helps - good luck with it all
Jett.
you could take sick leave because your still going to be bad and in ain after the surgery. no matter if you wanted or needed it doing it is still a medical situation. If your employer refuses it as sick then i would go to your union if your company has one.
However i think annual leave will pay you more sick pay is nil for first 5 days. then somthing like 拢13 per day i think after.
its your choice.
you can use your annual leave for whatever reason you wish the only criteria is can you get the dates you want

Can I claim cosmetic surgery as a medical expense when doing my taxes?
No. Medical means necessary for health problems. Cosmetic means for making you look better and is optional. IRS will deny the write off.Can I claim cosmetic surgery as a medical expense when doing my taxes?
Generally, you cannot include in medical expenses the amount you pay for unnecessary cosmetic surgery. This includes any procedure that is directed at improving the patient's appearance and does not meaningfully promote the proper function of the body or prevent or treat illness or disease. You generally cannot include in medical expenses the amount you pay for procedures such as face lifts, hair transplants, hair removal (electrolysis), and liposuction.
You can include in medical expenses the amount you pay for cosmetic surgery if it is necessary to improve a deformity arising from, or directly related to, a congenital abnormality, a personal injury resulting from an accident or trauma, or a disfiguring disease.
Example.
An individual undergoes surgery that removes a breast as part of treatment for cancer. She pays a surgeon to reconstruct the breast. The surgery to reconstruct the breast corrects a deformity directly related to the disease. The cost of the surgery is includible in her medical expenses.

http://www.hrblock.com/tax_professionals鈥?/a>Can I claim cosmetic surgery as a medical expense when doing my taxes?
Dear X: Depending on your occupation it maybe deductable. If you are an actress and cosmetic surgery helps you get a better part in a movie or make more income you would have an argument for deducting the surgery. If you are like most of us 9-5 people, then NO! If you are a TV news personality, well I guess you can get the drift.

not unless it's to correct a birth defect or accident scarring/trauma
No.

Can anyone help with cosmetics please?
Hi, i love the look of some barry m products (listed below) but i am unsure as to weather they contain shimmer or not. Its vital I know beofore buying online becuase I can't use the shimmer ones due to a skin condition (I have a really nasty allergic reaction to glitter or any kind whatso ever, it sucks at christmas time haha). If you have/ know some who has these products would you be so kind as to tell me if they have shimmer in them? thank you everyone :)

If you email them they're pretty helpful.
The eyeliner is matte %26amp; I'm guessing the lipgloss is matte too %26amp; so they won't contain any shimmer :)
Spring green doesn't contain any shimmer %26amp; neither does the grey.
Hope this helps xx

Help with makeup/mac cosmetics?
Hey, I have always, always had super rosy cheeks, like literally the ultimate rosy cheeks! Anyways for like 3, almost 4 years I have used shitty cheap foundation that you buy at stores like walgreens, and walmart. And it does not work and leaves horrible lines! I am going to get my makeup professionally done at Mac Cosmetics really, really soon. All I want to know is will they be able to help me with my rosy cheeks, and help me find a really great high quality foundation? Any information on this would be great, and does mac cosmetics have pretty nice foundation or not?Help with makeup/mac cosmetics?
MAC foundation is not good for your skin in the long run. It could cause clogged pores and acne breakouts. With someone with sensitive, reddish skin I would not recommend it.
I would recommend these foundations that are all approved for sensitive skin:

start using a green moisturizer it just neutralizes the red a lot... eucerin has a line for redness relief and mac may have a green foundation primer they can use during the make-over so you can try it and see how it works

What colors of MAC cosmetics would you suggest for me?
i have very fair skin, slight freckles, light blue eyes and light brown hair with very blond high lites. my husband said it's ok for me to buy some cosmetics for myself for my birthday (he couldnt buy anything, he is deployed) and i've decided i want to try MAC. i checked their website and they have no locations or stores that sell it anywhere around here. anyways, all i need is suggestions for eyes cheeks and lips, i am a die hard bare minerals foundation girl and want to use up what i have left of that before switching foundations. thanks! What colors of MAC cosmetics would you suggest for me?
First off, if you use Bare Minerals foundation, DO NOT SWITCH!! My MAC saleslady actually *talked me out* of changing foundations! She said if you use Bare Minerals or Clinique and switch to MAC, your skin may freak out.
As far as colors, MAC's are great, they stay on well and last for ages.

Why don't cheaper cosmetics/creams/hair products work as well as high end ones from Neiman/Nordstroms?
Popular sayings were that cheaper cosmetics worked just as well as higher end ones. Not so true! I've sampled and used SO many from high end cosmetics to low end, and at the end of the day what I find is that higher end cosmetics definitely work better, though are 10x more expensive than lower end cosmetics.
When I used products from L'oreal, Oil of Olay, Neutrogena, Aveeno, Dove, and millions of other middle of the road, and even lower end products, I noticed that they really didn't do anything really for treating aging, lines, etc. They are ok for moisturizing, sunblock, and all that stuff, but when it comes to SERIOUS skin care, and plastic surgery like results, they do NOT deliver.
However when I used higher end products from Neiman/Nordstroms, I find that they work SO well some of them, that you end up having a flawless complexion and they even make you look younger too.
In short: They work MUCH better.
Not all, there are some higher end cosmetics that are total ripoffs but,
is there just more research time and development put into higher end cosmetics?
If we're serious about skincare, should we spend the money on one or two of the higher name brands, and just ditch the lower stuff altogether?
Same goes for hair and hair products.
Any advice?
When you get your hair ';professionally'; done and use those professional products, your look is 10x better than if you were to buy your own dye and do it yourself etc.
Why don't cheaper cosmetics/creams/hair products work as well as high end ones from Neiman/Nordstroms?
the ';professional'; products tend to have higher priced ingredients and also contain more of the active ingredient. when it comes to hair, the professional color lines use ingredients that are less damaging and more conditioning to hair. but don't forget the people at the salon know how to formulate color and style hair. there's more to it then people think. hope this helped a little!

Ever experienced a Sephora Cosmetics Consultation? Adults only, please!?
I have scheduled a cosmetics consultation at Sephora for tomorrow afternoon. I'm going during the day and they were able to take an appointment between my work meetings, so that was great. Now have any of you had a good experience with Sephora? I see teenagers (or 20-somethings that look like teenagers) in there all the time and they are over the top trendy. I'm an executive and I simply cannot have that ';trendy'; image. I want something elegant, sexy, and timeless. And most important, I do not want to buy $200 worth of crap. Let's face it, for anyone that has ever studied cosmetic chemistry, most of the products in Sephora are below average (yet still better than the typical department store brands!).
I have a photo shoot, for my match.com profle, on Saturday morning and I need to look my very best! The photographer isn't providing a make-up artist (I'm picky anyway, so that's good) so I need suggestions to make my pictures look their best! Thanks!Ever experienced a Sephora Cosmetics Consultation? Adults only, please!?
I've never had a consultation there but I do buy the Bare Escentuals mineral makeup there. It is absolutely the ONLY makeup I will use. I have really sensitive skin and it is just wonderful. It makes my face look absolutely flawless and glowy. I'm a mom of three, not a teenager. I'm not into trendy overdone makeup. Seriously, I would marry that makeup if I could! lolEver experienced a Sephora Cosmetics Consultation? Adults only, please!?
the top picks from sephora for quality cosmetics and timeless looks are lancome, smashbox, and lorac. have fun!
I had a Sephora makeover when I was in my mid-to-late twenties. I was working in a corporate environment at the time, I liked the work the makeup artist did. I would love to have the artist's contact information now - he did wonderful work and I would like to have him for my wedding makeup.
My friend had a Sephora makeover also, it was with a different guy. She did not like it and I thought the guy was an a-hole. If you get this situation, I would advise walking away as soon as you can because my friend's feelings were hurt.
So the experience will vary. The makeup artists will suggest products to buy, but they do not work off of commission. If you don't want to buy certain (or any of the) items you don't have to do that.
You can let them know your preferences for makeup, i.e. you might not want sparkly eye shadow or the smoky eye. The makeup artist should accomodate you or be able to suggest ideas that will look good on you.
If Sephora doesn't work out, you might want to try Bobbi Brown, I think she might have a neutral look that is good for the workplace. My favorite is Lancome.
Well, while your at Sephora, they'll match your skin tone with all the different colors of concealer, foundation, eye shadow, blush and/or bronzer. All you need to do is give them a basic style to work with. Let them know how you want to look (i.e., give them a celebrity to model you after, a designer's make up used on the runway, or a type of style's recent looks). Trust me, they'll know these things, I'm just giving you a heads up. If you're not really familiar with those examples, try telling them if you want to your make up to look dramatic, romantic, soft, bright, or casual.
I hope this helped!
Good luck.
Not that you have time before your Sat. photo shoot but if you want high quality, reasonable make up that isn't trendy and bizarre - I personally find that Mary Kay Cosmetics are by far the best around. A good Mary Kay Consultant will also give you a consultation and help you choose colors, looks etc that are best for your style and complextion and they don't charge for their services either. I am a 50 year old working mother who won't leave home without my hair %26amp; make-up on and looking my best - I use almost exclusively Mary Kay products and really love the different moisturizers, foundations, mascaras and eye lines and lipsticks they have. HIGH quality, no lead in the lipsticks, no CRAP in the products etc. I would highly recommend them.

Stocking up my makeup/cosmetics collection, any product suggestions? (More details included)?
I am totally throwing out all of my make up collection and starting over again as i need new makeup.i want to try new brands/products as i was unhappy with a lot of the products in my old collection.I need the following things:
Mascara- I have long eyelashes already so im not looking for one thats really lengthening. The most important thing i look for in my mascara is that it doesn't clump and one that i don't need to put heaps of coats on to get a nice finish.
Eyeshadow - I have brown eyes so i want colors that suit brown eyes. i love neutrals and chocolates/espressos/browns shades and id like eyeshadow that isnt too shimmery, more matte as im wearing it during the day.
Liquid eyeliner- Ive never used liquid eyeliner but i want to start using it so it has to be easy for a beginner to use. I want one with a matte finish that is easy to apply and does not fade or run. In a black shade.
Pencil eyeliner- Either retractable or normal, it doesn't worry me. I want two, one in a black shade and one in a brown shade. I want one that doesn't smudge easily and i don't have to keep reapplying during the day but one that i can blend into my lash line.
Foundation- Can be liquid, powder, mineral, i don't care what. I want one that gives my skin a clean, natural, fresh look and that is not too heavy on my skin or will clog my pores
Lip colour- Either gloss , stain or lipstick. I want two, one in a berry shade and one in a nude shade. I want one that doesn't run and doesn't feel too heavy.
I live in Australia so i want brands that are available here or globally, such as Maybelline, Covergirl, Revlon, Max Factor etc. I also don't want to spend more than $35 dollars per item. So any suggestions of products i can get?
Thanks in advance.Stocking up my makeup/cosmetics collection, any product suggestions? (More details included)?
Hi, I saw this and as I have tried a lot of different cosmetics in search of really good ones at good prices, I thought I may be able to help! Each of these items are under $20.
For mascara, I suggest Covergirl Lashblast. It's mostly a thickening mascara, but goes on smoothly, and doesn't flake or smudge, and washes off easily. You only need one or two coats. It didn't irritate my eyes at all. I HATE Covergirl mascaras, but heard good things about this one and thought I would give it a try, and it's excellent. The applicator is pretty large compared to other mascaras and just takes a little getting used to- but it's worth it.
For eyeshadow, I really like Almay's eyeshadow trios for specific eye colors. One of my eyes is brown and the other is hazel, so I have used both the sets for brown and hazel eyes. They have 2 different kinds for each eye color- an ';everyday'; set ( for brown eyes, it includes a chocolate brown, a light beige, and a light purple shade) and one called Play-It-UP, for a ';nighttime look'; ( for brown eyes, it includes a deep purple, a medium purple, and a pearly white shade) The colors are nice and go on well. They have a little shimmer, but nothing ridiculous looking. You don't have to always use all three shades in the set either... for example you could use the brown and beige for everyday, and maybe if you're feeling adventurous, try out the purple shade with the other two, etc. I mix them up depending on how I feel and what I'm wearing that day
-----%26gt; You didn't mention this in your question, but I think it will really help- you should pick up an eyeshadow primer. It helps your eyecolor stay put and not fade. I just picked up a new one the other day: Neutrogena eye tints/primer in ';petal';, I think. Just rub some over your eyelid with your finger before you apply your eyeshadow. I feel it helped my eyeliner stay put, as well. It works really well and makes your eyes feel more awake. Definitely give this a try.
As for liquid eyeliner, I converted to this two years ago, and I love it. I use Almay again for this. They have it in a black shade, and it has a smooth felt-tip applicator, so it doesn't flick the liner all over your face when you put it on. I've never had any problems with it, but liquid eyeliner does take some practice at first.
For a pencil eyeliner, I would go with Almay again. It comes in pencil form and I've only gotten the black one, and it's really good- it doesn't smudge and goes on smoothly. I think you'd like it.
For foundation, I suggest Physician's Formula mineral loose powder foundation. I have pretty nice skin, but like to even the tone out and cover up the occasional blemish, and this works well for that. It isn't heavy and disgusting, and feels good on your skin. Just apply it with a large brush. If you feel it's settling on your skin a little too noticeably, I just lightly pat on a small amount of my facial moisturizer to even it out.
Lastly, for lip color, I use one by Covergirl in a shiny silver tube. Sorry I can't remember the name of the lipstick line, but I'm sure you could find it. I think the color of it was called ';nude';, It goes on smoothly and looks nice. As for a berry color, I would just look through the Covergirl lipcolors in the line of the nude one I mentioned. I don't use berry or red shades at all, so sorry I can't be of more help in that department. I'm sure you could find a good color though.
Sorry this was so long and I hope I helped. Good luck!

www.coastalscents.com
i live in australia too and i get lots of makeup from there
its all mineral and good for your skin
the foundation gives good coverage, you can sleep with it on, they have good shades, its not very expensive.
the eyeshadows are really nice and pigmented, i love them, i recommend the 88 matte pallette.
they also have very good brushes. very soft.
they also have eyeliners etc.
Good for you for updating your make-up and your look! I absolutely LOVE everything that Smashbox puts out and, aside from my lip colors and mascaras, use it exclusively.
For lips I recommend Outlast by Cover Girl. It comes in lots of shades so you can pick the perfect berry and nude. It's a two step process. First, you apply the color to your lips and let it dry. (It doesn't take long.) Second, you apply the gloss. What's great about Outlast is that it really will last, even through a meal! The only ';touch-up'; I do with Outlast is carry the gloss with me to keep my lips moisturized - the color stays fresh and pretty.
Mascara - Maybelline's Great Lash comes in black, soft black, brown, and an indigo. It is easy to apply - just remember that if you are adding more than one coat to do it while your lashes are still wet with the first coat. I don't know why, but it works best that way. :) Great Lash is packaged in a pink and green tube and has been around a long time but it is still the best I've ever used, and I've tried many. It also comes in a regular and a waterproof formula - they each work well but I feel the regular is gentler to the lashes.
Eyeshadow - Smashbox has many colors to complement your brown eyes. They come in little pots and last a long time. They also usually come with the proper brushes for application. Some have a touch of glitter but all are appropriate for a day or night look - depends on how you do it.
Liquid and pencil eyeliner - I've given up on liquid eyeliners because I cannot find one that doesn't flake or peel or leave too harsh of a line. Instead, I use Smashbox's liners - also in pots - which also come with a straight, hard-bristled brush. The key to application is coating the tip of the brush with the liner and ';walking'; it from the inside of your eye to the outer corner. You can smudge these if you want, do a light line, or get fairly heavy-handed; they stay on and look great all day or night. There is very little to no smudging unless you want that look and do it when you first apply it. The liner is also available in various colors from Smashbox.
Foundation - Liquids are too messy for me and don't look natural, while mineral makeups haven't done much for my coloring, either. Smashbox has a non-foundation foundation called Halo. It is a hydrating treatment and makeup in once that absolutely gives your skin a fresh healthy glow that is natural looking. Also, because it contains ingredients that are healthy for your skin, you will probably notice a difference in the elasticity and skin tone of your face. (Smashbox also has a pot of blush that looks very pinkish but goes on so softly you can barely detect it; it just helps you look like you are glowing from the inside out. I like to use it over my Halo.)
As to where to purchase Smashbox, if you have QVC on television or QVC.com, I get my best prices there - and great service, too. There is also a home site at Smashbox.com AND eBay sellers often offer these products. The Maybelline and Cover Girl for the eyes and lips can probably be gotten anywhere.
I'm excited for you to try out your new look(s) and truly hope I have helped. ~Pasha
i can only help you with a couple of things, but i hope it actually helps. for mascara, i like Rimmel glam eyes. it goes on clean and it looks great. for foundation, i.d. bare minerals is the way to go. it is light, and it just blends in with your skin. you dont even have to use that much. for lip gloss, i love covergirl wetslicks (any kind) and i also like rimmel sweet jelly. just make sure to get shiny gloss, not a sparkly one. those look childish. hope this helps some. good luck with your new makeup! :)
Good luck!

i live in australia too and i get lots of makeup from there
its all mineral and good for your skin
the foundation gives good coverage, you can sleep with it on, they have good shades, its not very expensive.
the eyeshadows are really nice and pigmented, i love them, i recommend the 88 matte pallette.
they also have very good brushes. very soft.
they also have eyeliners etc.

Does selling Beauti Control Cosmetics really pay off?
I have recently become a stay at home Mom to my two children whom are both under two years old. I have decided that it's not worth it to go back to my job right now, yet I still want to have a little money of my own. I use Beauti Control products and love them and I thought it would be fun to sell them. But I am just worried that I will invest money into this and it not pay off. What are some of the pros and cons of selling stuff like this? Would it be worth my time to even try it out?Does selling Beauti Control Cosmetics really pay off?
Hi! I am also a stay at home mom to my four month old baby boy. I love staying home with him because I don't miss a thing and I can be there for him when ever he needs me.
Although I don't know much about selling beauty products, I have heard some people make a pretty good income from selling Mary Kay. I looked into it, but I did not have much money to invest into buying the products. I've been researching a lot of jobs I can do from home, but most of them turned out to be a scam. I actually gave up and than one day I received an email from another stay at home mom who recommended checking out a really great, scam free, legit and FREE! work at home opportunity. If you are interested please feel free to email me for more information.Does selling Beauti Control Cosmetics really pay off?

Has anyone used Milani Cosmetics? Is the quality good?
I've seen their color spectrum, and they look really pretty! And they don't seem as cheap as Wet N' Wild, so I was wondering about the quality of these products, since I have never tried them before, and they ARE a drug store brand, and you never know drug store brands, you have to look at products individually. Any products from them that are good? Their lip glosses look very pretty. What about their eyeshadows? Do they crease easily? I love the bold, exotic colors, from what I've seen.Has anyone used Milani Cosmetics? Is the quality good?
yes, they are much better than wet n' wild! lol almost anything is! but yes the eyeshadows are very good! the color stays very well and is very vibrant! you should really try itHas anyone used Milani Cosmetics? Is the quality good?
For a drugstore brand it is ok. I own a couple colors (earthy tones) and they seem to work well. It is sure better than wet n' wild and of course not as good as the higher end brands but if you're curious the best thing to do would be just to try them out. They are not that expensive so buying one won't hurt you. You will get an idea, first hand, of how the pigmentation is and be able to answer all your concerns and questions.computer security

Would you work at cosmetics store given these conditions?
I went on an interview at a cosmetic store than 99% caters to white women. As a black female coming in the store, the ladies were generally nice and asked me a few questions, one being if I would be comfortable working in a store that primarily catered to Caucasian women and if an old white lady did not want me to help her figuring that I knew nothing about the product line being of darker skin, how would I handle that. They also mentioned that they serve the Socialites in the area and some may be snobby and not want me to help them because of my darker skin. They asked if I was confy with this. I knew that this would come up in conversation being that I'm working for a cosmetics store were pretty much all of the customers will be white. One of the ladies also applauded me for considering the position knowing this. They also mentioned that even with me being different than most of the customers in the store, would I be comfortable. I know business is businesWhat do you think? ThaaaankWould you work at cosmetics store given these conditions?
maybe if they employed more black women they would find that more black woman were happy to shop there- actually i cannot believe that in 2007 these questions are still being asked . I work in the UK employing beauty consultants and would never dream of asking those kind off questions . Good Luck i hope you find a great job..Would you work at cosmetics store given these conditions?
well, i don't know your background and expertise, a certified cosmetologist is trained to work with all skin types and all skin tones, so race really shouldn't matter, if you are confident in your knowledge. this may be a great opportunity for you to help expand the store's customer base, from grumpy old women to a hipper crowd. good luck !!!
i think its nice of them to prepare you before you get the job and get an a$$hole and freak out. if you are comfortable take the job. it doesn't seem like the ladies you will be working with are rude and hateful, if they didnt like you they didnt have to talk with you about this. luck.
It seems like that ladies that you will be working with on a daily basis are friendly and nice to you. That can help a lot. If you have a nasty customer it will help to have fellow associates on your side who you can talk to. It does seem like it might be a difficult situation for you to be in. You are going to have to ask yourself if you can handle that drama that may occur on a daily basis or not at all from these snobby socialites. If you decide to take the job kudos to you for taking a position that means you will have to stand your ground and maybe show these old ladies that all people can be wonderful sales people.
I don't know, their questions seem a little bit off, like they might be trying to scare you away from wanting the position. I think it's okay for them to let you know that the majority of the customers need help with cosmetics that may be different from what you're used to. But why would they have to say that an old white woman might not want you to help her?!?! That could happen if you're a waitress, or a secretary, or in any other profession, but they don't usually bring it up in the interview! It sounds a bit strange to me.
Merle Norman sucks anyways! LOL, just kidding.
But it was very unprofessional of them to even ask you or ANYONE questions like that.
Well, my dear, the reality is that we are living in a society that is very judgmental about our race and color. Being from Middle East, I sympathize with you. However, here is my answer: Go for the position and show that you know what you are doing. If someone does not want you, that is their loss. In fact, considering that you are dark, you have an objective view on what looks better on a white skin versus a tanner skin. Find the names of black makeup artists that are famous and work on celebrities and remember to use those names when you are attacked with an offensive remark. Good Luck!
I think you should work it girl as a beautiful black woman. Stop with the stigma and get the job. So what if you are working with the majority of white people. Tell yourself that you CAN do the job and nothing can defeat you. So what if white women don't want you to help them. You should always put yourself in someone else's shoes like how does a white person feel when they are surrounded by all blacks are they comfortable, do you make them comfortable? Don't ever let someone else discourage you from getting something you want just because of your skin color or you will be setting yourself up. Do you think Oprah let that get in her way?
Do what you need to do and represent and be the best damn makeup artist/seller that they have ever encountered.
And that's that!
Uh Hello how rude are the people giving this interview???? I would imagine they are only putting into words what you have already thought. I guess I would take the job if you are comfortable working with people who see your race and not who you are.
look at it this way..it would be a learning experience for you and for the customers
you are being giving the opportunity to change at least one persons view on a race other then their own..the littlest things..such as selling makeup to someone...can change the way someone is for the rest of their life
Personally, I think it wasn't really rude of them to ask you that question. They were just being honest. But if I was in your position, if I think I can handle that well then I would go for it. But realistically speaking also, I would RATHER not have or I would rather choose to find another job that I would not subject myself to indifference. The truth is we are in a world/society where we are being judged with the color of our skin. And people are struggling everyday. My point is you have a choice (there are other jobs out there) you don't have to prove anything. Don't risk yourself sticking out like a sore thumb. There are a lot more jobs out there that will make you feel welcome.
If your are comfortable with it why not? I saw black women working the cosmetics counter at Macys the other day and I think it's good. Maybe it would make others comfortable to go into a place like that if they see you working there.
Well, I have to applaud them for being honest. I mean it was harsh but probably true (they know their clientele). Did THEY seem nice? Would you be comfortable working with them? If you like them and it seems like a good working environment with room for advancement. Go for it. I know that I wouldn't have any problems asking a woman of color make up advice. I'm not black but I have dark skin and I have problems picking out good shades, yeah, I'd actually prefer a woman of color. Do good work and know your product and no one will have any problem with your skin color. It's up to you. Good luck :)
P.S. Can you give me some cosmetic tips, I'm a hopeless case!!!!!!!!!

The truth about the cosmetics/make-up industry?
Ok. So we all know that make-up now-a-days is...Better than what it used to be. But what are the real ingredients and side effects of them? Reasons whether you think that make-up should be banned or whatnot? Any truth that you have about the cosmetic make-up [like M.A.C., Wet 'n' Wild, Etc, those general kinds of make-ups like eyeliner, blush, foundation, etc] is welcome here!
So Answer quickly!
The best and most through out informative answer that I recive first is getting best answer!
:DThe truth about the cosmetics/make-up industry?
Reasons why make up should be banned, well here's an easy one the brands that test on animals, and there are a lot. It's completely pointless to test makeup on animals when all the basic ingredients have already been proven safe. Do we really need more types of make up?, no. Don't even get me started on what they actually do to them. The truth about the cosmetics/make-up industry?
I think makeup with titanium should be banned, i am so allergic to it.
oxidyde i can wear but something in the titanium causes my face to go red and irritated.. thats on foundation, revlon uses alot of titanium
Why should make up be banned?
Whoever doesnt like it, doesnt have to use it.
CoverGirl - Because they test on animals.
Wet 'n' Wild - Because they sued my FAVORITE cosmetics company ';Wild and Crazy'; cosmetics for having a similar name. And their eyeliners suck. The wood on their eyeliner is very rough, I nicked my eye!
Maybelline - Their foundation ';Clean Make-Up'; is very drying and comes off so fast. But they have the most long wearing (yet discontinued) eyeshadows.

Has anyone tried Boots Cosmetics? What is the quality of their products?
The color range? (I'd like a line with more than three colors, thank you, hehe.)
Is the lip gloss tacky? Does it have that plasticy smell I hate?
(I hope it's better than Wet N' Wild...)
Does it seem ';cheap';?
Does the eyeshadow crease?
What is the overall quality? You can talk about any product of theirs that you'd like?
Do you have any products you particularly like from them?
What is the quality compared to other drugstore cosmetics?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!Has anyone tried Boots Cosmetics? What is the quality of their products?
Hey,
i regulary use their No7 stay perfect foundation and its really quite decent!
i initualy used it because its hypo-allergenic, and any other foundations gave me a rash, but now i wont use anything eles!
their other make up though isnt as good, the eye shadow is hard to get on and their lipgloss gloopy!
hope this helps
xHas anyone tried Boots Cosmetics? What is the quality of their products?
I've only used their lipgloss in No. 7. It's mediocre; the shade isn't the ';perfect pink'; and it doesn't hide imperfections like my go-to gloss (MAC lipglass in ample pink).

Question about MAC Makeup/Cosmetics?
My friend said I should go to MAC Cosmetics because they match what coverup and cleanser and makeup you should use by learning more about your skin. The problem is convincing my mom. She is very controlling and thinks I'm weird because I started wearing makeup a few weeks ago. How can I convince her to take me?? And also, what is your opinion on MAC Cosmetics (if you've used it.) And most importantly, is it really expensive?? Because if it is, my mom will never give in. Thanks!Question about MAC Makeup/Cosmetics?
MAC is VERY over-priced ($20 or more for a lipstick), and is STUDIO makeup...not many girls realize that MAC isn't exactly for daily wear. The make-up itself is very thick, almost pastey, and although it covers blemishes well, the lack of oxygen to your skin will make them look worse once the make-up wears off.
Since you've just started using make up, I suggest Bare Minerals...Yes, from the infomercials. They probably have a store at one of your malls (there's 3 in the 3 malls in my area, aren't we lucky to be CA girls?!). The make-up artists there will gladly match you with your own tones, it's not super expensive and lasts a LONG time. Not to mention the fact it covers GREAT, stays on and makes your skin look natural and healthy every time you use it! It's much lighter and because it's minerals, it doesn't melt like a creamy foundation from MAC might (especially if you're in high school...PE was the DEATH of my MAC make-up!).
Once you have your foundation, go ahead and buy anything else from your local drug store...For eyeliner, I suggest Revlon brand, and eye shadows-go crazy! If you really want some dramatic eyelashes, the new Lash Stiletto mascara is AMAZING.Question about MAC Makeup/Cosmetics?
i just bought studio fix a week ago and it looked soo good when i first put in on , but not later on in the day ! '; yuck '; . talk about thick cakey and oil slick . i only used a tad bit with a brush too ! i would recommend loreal tru match %26lt;333 cheaper and doesnt even feel like im wearing anything !
these people are so stupid its not that expensive. its like 14 for a lipstick.. not 20 wth are they thinking? but yeahh its a reallllly good brand, and your mom should understand the money because its a very highend brand, and very cheap at that. good luck :)
once you buy mac you never go back!! haha :)
btw you can just go on the website www.maccosmetics.com for the prices and stuff :)
M.A.C. is a great brand, but they are a bit pricey. Expect to pay $30 for foundation, $20 for eyeliner, $16 for lipgloss, etc. So it just depends on how much she's willing to pay. Offer to pitch-in if that would convince her to take you.

I really don't care for MAC anymore. I (at the advice from Elle above) have started using Bee Luscious. The quality and feel is much better.
Tell her that MAC makeup is very tasteful. They have a ton of colors that she would even like. My mom didnt want me to start wearing MAC either but now she is going into my train case and taking my blushes and mineralizer finishes lol. If you want her to get you MAC, I would say start out with just getting basic colors, like of course the stuff for your skin but if you want like eyeshadow, try the brown colors. Then once she sees that its actually nice she may let you explore more into the company. I love MAC. Ive been wearing flirt from kohls for the longest time, I work there and sell the make up, but i havent been wearing it once i got my first MAC products. The colors are absolutly beautiful and theres just so much more. Honestly, I dont think its possible to make yourself look bad when your wearing it. Its not as expensive as people think. When you go there it is going to seem like it is, but their only a couple dollars more than stuff from revlon. The foundation is $28 but thats a good foundation. Any great foundation is expensive. The pressed powder is $18 i think, I love it. Its my first year in college and im gone all day but its really my secret weapon to looking like i just got there. eyeliner is 14, lasts forever! Its really long and the lead doesnt break easily. Mascara, the prices vary. Pigments are $20, and again last forever. Im pretty sure the eyeshadows are about $12.50. The lipglasses are $14 and that has never stopped me. Honestly the prettiest colors ever. Im not even exaggerating either. Mineralised skin finishes are $27 but are really big. Blushes are around $18 but I would go for the grand duo mineralised blush. Their $22.50 and the coolest colors. Hope I covered everything you were looking at.computer security

Have you used Afterglow cosmetics? What do you think?
I have been researching mineral makeup because I believe it is less toxic than regular makeup. I have read a great deal about what to avoid such as, particulate size less than .2 microns, no bismuth oxychloride, no parabin, etc. I have been looking online at Afterglow Cosmetics and am impressed with thier information on thier site (other companies do not give specific information on ingredients they just loosely throw around the term ';all natural';) Has anyone tried Afterglow cosmetics? Do you like thier products? What other companies have you tried? Thanks!Have you used Afterglow cosmetics? What do you think?
As noble as Afterglow's cause. I am afraid they still come up short. This is from their website:
Organic Eye Liner: peg-25 hydrogenate castor oil, organic jojoba (simmondsia chinensis) seed oil*, candelilla (euphorbia cerifera) oil, organic aloe (barbadensis) leaf extract*, organic beeswax (cera alba)*, organic safflower (carthamus tinctorius) oil* phenoxyethanol. May contain [+/-] Iron Oxide (CI77491, CI77492, CI77499), mica (CAS 12001-26-2), titanium dioxide (CI 77891) *made with certified organic ingredients.
Phenoxyethanol, and PEG-25 are petrochemicals. Phenoxyethanol is a preservative that has a mode of action similar to mustard gas and chemotherapeutic agents.Have you used Afterglow cosmetics? What do you think?
Hi emce, ive tried Afterglow Cosmetics. They have a great selection of products. My skin was horrible from trying other mineral brands and Afterglow has brought the glow back to my skin. Checkout the Skin Deep Website and see how safe Afterglow Cosmetic ingredients are and rated for safety. Report Abuse
Just be aware that although parabens may not be the best for you, the bacteria that they kill are FAR worse for your skin.
I work for their affiliate program and I must say I get lot of visitors that buy their products. I personally never tried their products, but they must have good products. I'd suggest looking up reviews on their products on Google. :)

What does the word ';cosmetics'; mean referring to eBay??? (PLEASE READ)?
I was looking at phones on eBay and a few of them had the word cosmetic in the condition. It would look like the following: The cell phone is in excellent cosmetic and working condition.
Now i know cosmetics refer to like make-up and all that. In this case, what does it mean??? Did the seller make it look better then what it was???
Is it bad to buy phones from those with that condition???
I really need the help. What does the word ';cosmetics'; mean referring to eBay??? (PLEASE READ)?
cosmetic means how it looksWhat does the word ';cosmetics'; mean referring to eBay??? (PLEASE READ)?
Cosmetics refers to the physical appearance of the phone.
In the context that they have used the word. They are telling you that from the outside the phone looks really good. There isn't any alterations to the product, instead because of good upkeep ';Cosmetically'; you will have no issues with it. The same can be used if it needed some 'Cosmetic'; repair. Meaning..... you will have to repair something you are looking at. Hope this helps.
looks-- bad is damaged, good is flawless
cosmetic means that the appearance if the item is good. hen it says it is in excellent cosmetic shape it is saying that the look is what it should be and there aren't any scrapes, scratches or dings in it.
cosmetic used in this format refers to the outside condition of the phone. you are probably looking for a phone in excellent or like new cosmetic condition.the seller did not make it look better, so it is fine to purchase a phone in this condition.
I know that it may seem 'weird' that a 'cell phone' has 'cosmetics' ... but that means that it LOOKS NEW and that it also WORKS ... but that should be an 'alarm' going off in your head ... this phone is NOT NEW (it just 'looks new' because it's been 'fixed up') and that it is in 'working condition' but doesn't say how WELL it works ... I wouldn't bid on this phone, but look furher for a good NEW phone ... on a 'regular' website for the phone company, and not on eBay.
This means that the phone is in excellent condition and no it not bad to buy in that condition but really you should buy new if you can afford it.......to make it cosmetically look better the seller may have bought a new accessory case for it

Is MAC a good cosmetics line?
Is MAC a good cosmetics line? I need to get a foundation for my really fair skin tone and it is tricky trying to get something that matches. I see that they code thier foundations as NC or NW so maybe they will match me better? Also, are thier makeup colors and skincare any good? I just need the basics really, I have prescription skincare for my regular facial cleansing process. I only need a moisurizer and makeup remover as far as my skincare goes, and then for makeup I really need a good foundation that will blend into my skin....so far I have tried Lancome, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Estee Lauder, Bare Minerals, Mary Kay, Smashbox, Origins (foundation samples only not the rest of the line) need I go on? I am really fair and have a warm undertone to my skin. So when I get a foundation that is light enough normally the undertone is COOL and I get WASHED out! So do you think MAC would be good for me to try? Any makeup artists out there feel free to let me know too!Is MAC a good cosmetics line?
I absolutely love mac. I have very sensitive skin and its the best i have ever used, the coverage is great and its feels light on my skin not heavy. What i did was go into my local mac store and explain the look i wanted and the type of skin i have (i also dropped in i was looking to change my entire make up bag!), I was sat down and the makeup artist tried lots of different types of foundation to see what matched and made my skin look fresh and healthy. They also recommend other make up that would be good for your skin tone. I must have been in there for about an hour (i got slightly carried away! Free make over!), the guy in the shop was amazing, very knowledgeable and really helpful. I now buy all my make up in there. And if i cant afford to replace bits, i can usually find the product on eBay!! Good luckIs MAC a good cosmetics line?
Mac is a great cosmetic line.
I'm not a makeup artist but i tried most of those also i currently have Esta Lauder and i hate it. i only got it because the mall i went to didn't sell mac. i get so many complements when i wear mac and you can tell its good because even the gay guys can recognize it and tell you it looks good. anyway i will check out another mall and buy nothing but mac i highly suggest you try it out I'm sure you will love it no one can match your skin better than mac and with all the choices of other products I'm sure you will be satisfied - best of luck
yeah it's awesome
MAC is an awsome place to buy cosmetics, but one thing, its pricey. The shadows and glosses r just sooo pretty and r good for youre skin. But on the other hand they r pricey BUT last u a while. So i guess thats a yes. xD
totally!!!
I think they have some great products but some of their foundations made me breakout. They are very heavy and have great coverage!! I would only use Mac foundation at night or to get heavy coverage. There other products are good. Have you tried Bobbi brown? Love them! I find I use different things from different lines. Do what works for you!! Go to the store and get them to do your make up..have fun!!
yes, MAC is very good. its the stuff they use on runways, so its very bright and exaggerated, though. (i mean like the eyeshadow, eyeliner and lipstick) the foundation is awesome.
They are one of the best!!!!
yes mac is very good quality and is well know for there great cosmetic line and amazing quality
It's good quality make-up but it's on the pricey side. You may get the coverage you want but your skin won't be the ';best it can be';. I would try a mineral make-up. It gives you just as much coverage as a MAC foundation and it's good for your skin! Score!!! Hope I helped =)
its great
I am a professional makeup and hair stylist. MAC is a good product to try, but not really. You should try: Sheer Cover, Mineral Makeup (it works great)
MAC is a really good line, expensive but the quality is good, tyr going to your local ULTA.
Mac鈾?is probebly the best makeup brand along with Dior =] it's high quality and they take pride and effort into making there line. tottaly go for it !

Does anybody used Lancaster cosmetics, are they worthy??
I never tried this brand.
But, I'm using Neo strata.
It's good for wrinkle, and cheap.

Have you tried ELF cosmetics?
i just bought some ELF cosmetics (eyeslipsface) and I wanted to know if it is good or not. I'm amazed that it's only $1, but that makes me a little suspicious.. Have you tried this? Is it good? I ordered this stuff called Facial whip, and you can wear it on your eyes, cheeks or lips.
Is this brand good? Or are you basically getting what you paid for?Have you tried ELF cosmetics?
Some of it is good, and some of it is awful. I'm afraid I've never tried the Facial Whip though, so I can't say if that one is any good.
Edit: Oh you ordered lip gloss too? This is what I've thought of the ones I tried:
Candy Shop Lip Tins: One of my favorite lip glosses. They smell and look great, and aren't super sticky
Super Glossy: Not good at all. Really sticky, opaque, and the colour just wouldn't spread evenly.
Hypershine: Nice, have an odd smell to them. Not bad, just hard to place.
Luscious Liquid Lipstick: No real complaint or rave review for this one.
Therapeutic Conditioning Balm: This one was the worst of the bunch. It will turn your lips the exact colour of the balm itself (and none of them are pretty) AND it made my lips peel!
Custom Lips: Be aware that this is lipstick, not gloss. They were really messy for me even with a brush, but they looked good and made my lips soft once I actually got it on.Have you tried ELF cosmetics?
I've tried a few things from ELF, and I was a bit hesitant to buy from there, because $1 makeup that is ';as good as higher-end brands';? I don't think its possible. You are getting what you pay for. Some stuff can be good, but not amazing-ly great, at all. So, don't expect much from your ELF products, because you won't get much from them. As for the facial whip, yes, it can be used for eyes, cheeks and lips. :)
Hope I helped!
-Erica
Just like any brand they have good things and they have not so good things. Half of my favorite brushes are from ELF. I haven't tried much but i wasn't a huge fan of the eye shadows. Mostly because there is obviously better out there.
I think it's really a great brand for what you are paying for. Just don't expect MAC quality.
theyre actually pretty good products! i havent used them but all i ever hear are good things about them. i wouldnt suggest getting the eyelash curler because ive heard that it pinches but if you dont have one its great to practice on .. but in the long run youre just going to end up replacing it. ive also heard the blending brush is kind of course but so are most brushes the first time you use them. nothing a few washes and some breaking in shouldnt be able to fix. its a dollar!
honestly ive never tried it, but ive always wanted to. My magazine (seventeen) suggested it and people write in and vote on their favorite beauty products and i remember seeing an ELF brand on there. I think its one of those okay, but not great or crappy. Its good enough for the money that you pay!
It's okay. Their mineral makeup is better... it's only about 2 or 3 dollars. The brushes though... ARE AWESOME!!!
Don't fall for that ';if-it's-not-expensive-it's-no-good'; lie!!
I got a bronzer at Kmart from ELF and I really like it except the other day I ran put my fingers on my face and it looked like dirt on my face lol. But If I don't touch it it looks fine. Hope this helps! : D
Elf waterproof liquid eyeliner was mentioned in a mag as being fab. Not tried any of their products though.
I use it, and its very good. I like it alot. just don't use the eyeliner since it isn't all day, but everything else works great
i've tried it, i like it.. it works good. it smells kind of funny though
Here is my review:
the eyeshadows will not stay on very well they have no pigmentation and no matter how much eyeshadow primer you put on, it will not stay on. it also smears quick.
the eyeliners are also bad- they are very harsh on the eye and smear immediately- especially the black pencil
the brushes are pretty good- i like all the eye brushes, the liner brush, and the powder brush. the foundation brush is no good. don't buy it
the eyelash curler works great! i love how it curls my lashes.
the liquid eyeiner pen is also good but only as a base- i use it to line my top lid and go over it with a gel liner. if you use the pen alone, it will smear and smudge. then pen is also thin, so you can do your top lid as thin/thick as you like
the makeup remover pads are no good. they are very harsh on the eye and irritate your eyes. it turned my eyes red when i first used it. i threw the rest away.
the false lashes are pretty good but the glue sucks.
the nail polishes are also good- i like them a lot

I've tried a few things from ELF, and I was a bit hesitant to buy from there, because $1 makeup that is ';as good as higher-end brands';? I don't think its possible. You are getting what you pay for. Some stuff can be good, but not amazing-ly great, at all. So, don't expect much from your ELF products, because you won't get much from them. As for the facial whip, yes, it can be used for eyes, cheeks and lips. :)
Hope I helped!

Do you like MAC cosmetics?
Hi.
I am wondering do you like MAC cosmetics? My mom said it made her brake out... using their foundations, blushes, etc. Now she uses Bare Minerals. If I used MAC I would only use their eyeshadows, mascaras, and lip glosses, since I do not like to wear a lot of makeup.
Also... have you tried Eyes Lip Face Cosmetics (ELF)? If so did you like their makeup?
Thanx so much!!! =]
Additional info is welcome!!! =DDo you like MAC cosmetics?
I actually think that MAC is a great company but some of its products are not of the best quality. For example, the color selection in eyeshadows is the best but they fade easily. I also think that the foundations could be a little thick and heavy on the face. ELF on the other hand is okay but has not been around for a long time and I would be really curious about the quality of the ingredients considering that the prices are way too low. BE is okay, except you might experience some itching that is because of the Bismuth in the product-Do you like MAC cosmetics?
I love MAC they are the best.I recomend them to everyone.
theyre expensive
I love MAC! Especially the Studio Fix foundation. Some people break out from different things. And so do I. What I advise, if you are using a compact foundation like MAC Studio Fix, that instead of using the sponge that is enclosed with it, use a powder brush instead.
This will eliminate any bacteria from being transferred from your skin to the sponge and back and forth -- causing breakouts.
If you do opt to use the enclosed sponge, wash it EVERYDAY right after use, and allow to air dry.
Brushes need to be washed too, but not as often with a powder foundation. If you use a liquid foundation (like MAC's liquid Studio Fix) then you must wash the brush after each use - you will eliminate breakout-causing bacteria that way as well.
Good luck!
MAC is for the stage so it does tend to be a bit heavy. I love their eyeshadows and use them all the time. They also have a recycle program, if you turn in 6 old makeup containers you get a free lipstick.
Benefit has great makeup!I have never tried ELF.
god luck!
I don't try many MAC cosmetics myself, but I do have some nail polishes and lipglosses. I'd highly reccommend the Plush lipglass, it plumps up your lips so well, and the colours are brilliant! But I wouldn't reccommend the nail polish, mine flaked off within a matter of hours.
I love MAC lipglass... I use like the dark brown colour as a base, then dab it with a tissue and add the clear lipglass. It looks really natural, but also somehow like you've had a lip job :)
The lipsticks are good too... The thing about them is a little goes a looong way.

I am using MAC eyeshadows, blushes, blot powder and concealer.
I use 100% MAC products for everything; skincare, makeup, brushes and tools. I love their product and they have a great recycling program - if you bring in 6 emply plastic MAC containers you get a free lipstick!

Christians: IS LEGALISIM RELIGION COSMETICS?
Are you trapped in the cycle of PERFORMANCE based religion?
Do you worry about what people say and think about you?
Some one put it this way.....
';Performance based religion will make us do good for the wrong reasons. Pharisees, both those 2000 years ago and modern day ones, are always concerned how they look to others. It's about keeping up appearances, especially to impress those who attend the same church or who have the same list of do's and don'ts. Sometimes when ladies put on their make-up they call it ';putting on their face.'; Legalism is religious cosmetics. Jesus told the Samaritan women ';But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.'; (John 4:23) Grace enables us to be honest. God loves you not because of what you have done for him but because of what Jesus did for us at the cross.'; -
Your thoughts please?Christians: IS LEGALISIM RELIGION COSMETICS?
Legalism describes those who are of the works of the law are under a curse (Galatians 3:10). Our Lord Jesus Christ has fulfilled the law for all mankind when He shouted ';It is finished'; on the cross so believers no longer have to obey the law to fulfill righteousness which is already theirs as a gift (Luke 24:44, John 19:28-30, Romans 5:17). We now receive all God's blessings by faith in the finished work of Jesus on the cross and not by our own obedience to the law. God bless you sister Grace.Christians: IS LEGALISIM RELIGION COSMETICS?

Just looked on MAC Cosmetics UK site and can't believe that they have...? ?
reduced their prices. I hope the credit crunch aint got to them cause I love me some MAC.
Why do you think they did this?
or is this just a holiday thing?
http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/Just looked on MAC Cosmetics UK site and can't believe that they have...? ?
Yeah, this will be because the VAT has gone down, and so the prices have all gone down.
It's not special offers, all the shops have done it :)
Good though (Y)
It's to try and bring more money into shops, because of the credit crunch! Just looked on MAC Cosmetics UK site and can't believe that they have...? ?
VAT was reduced from 17.5% to 15% and came into place yesterday, December 1st, so most places have reduced their prices, that's why the prices are not whole pounds anymore, they end in random pence, like 拢9.87 or something. But don't worry MAC is fine, everywhere has to do it. I'm gonna stock up on stuff i need while prices are a bit cheaper!
Hope this helps.
I think that most of it is the sales, because they generally do go down quite a lot for sales. A couple of pounds might be the credit crunch though.
its because everywhere is havinglike a 2% cut off because the goverment are making them or something like that im not sure....
A lot of places have reduced their prices, asos and river island have
Why are you complaining that they have reduced the prices thats a GOOD THING!

Bobbi Brown or MAC Cosmetics?
I am 15 and i don't really use make-up. I am starting high school and plan on starting and i need help choosing between Bobbi Brown or Mac. I will be using it almost everyday with a more natural look so i want something that is good for my skin and doesn't cause acne. Please tell me which one you think is better and why. Thanks!Bobbi Brown or MAC Cosmetics?

They have way cuter make upBobbi Brown or MAC Cosmetics?
If you're 15, shouldn't you be a sophomore??
Anyway, for a natural look, go Bobby Brown. Go to MAC for fun colors and things like that.
