Cold sores and cosmetics?

I recently had a breakout of cold sores on my cheek and initially, I didn't know what it was so I covered it with a concealer brush and cream concealer from a pan (Revlon New Complexion Concealer). Now that my cold sore is gone, I understand I should wash the brush but do I need to throw out the concealer? It seems like such a waste cause I just bought that concealer....Cold sores and cosmetics?
Yes, because by dipping the brush you wiped the sore with into your makeup, you have contaminated it. I agree, it is a bummer, and is expensive, but it beats another outbreak. In the future, use a q-tip to apply to sores, and throw it out when you are done.Cold sores and cosmetics?
The viruses can be in the makeup which can cause another outbreak or if someone borrows this, it can be spread to them.

This is how my sister got it. (Her roommate borrowed her lipstick to cover a cold sore and didn't tell her)
