Working in mac cosmetics - 16 years old?

i would like to work in mac make up as a part time job


im in full education and enrolling in a sixth form in september


i am interested to work in mac but for someone of my age i'm unsure if i would be suitable


im studying media studies english lang and lit and dance - all creative subjects


how do i apply and i would preferably like to work in a department store in house of fraser or selfridges (london and croydon)

I think this is the perfect age to start as they can then train you to their style %26amp; you are starting with a clean slate! tell them you want to be trained also %26amp; are willing to undergo training if necessary.

You may have to work in other areas of the store, and then progress up to the makeup counters. Just go to the store and ask if they are hiring, or ask for an application form. Leave you CV with them, so even if they dont have a job going atm then they might call you when they do. I would say if you really want to work in the store, call them up reguarly to ask if theres jobs going, so they will know your really interested.


Jobs are pretty scarce atm, but good luck :)
i doubt mac would employ you as all their employees are trained and qualified beauty therapists or make up artists

they don't hire that young, even though they say they do. and with the horrible economy, you'll be lucky if they're hiring at all.

Ah as a 16 year old looking for a job I know your pain of trying to find one!





I think to be honest at 16 years old we cant afford to be picky i would love to work at MAC but seriously look at the people we have to compete up against to get ourselfs a job





At the end of the day I dont think we can be picky many other people would want a job in MAC im sure but no doubt they will have qualifications and shizz that we dont!





I reckon the best places to try arnt mcdonalds etc because EVERYONE looks there but small shops outside town centre
